Papers of Lewis Preston Summers [manuscript] ca. 1900-1972.

Correspondence in the collection deals chiefly with genealogy. There are some personal letters and a few political ones. Copies of 18th and 19th century family legal documents are included. Pamphlets and clippings cover S.W. Virginia history, family activities and some political events, a journal, 1921, of the European tour of Gay White Summers Jessup is included, as are a few bills and receipts, miscellaneous invitations, postcards and programs, and family photographs. Among the correspondents are Joseph L. Crupper, Carter Glass, Ambrose L. Henkel, Campbell Bascom Slemp, and Claude Augustus Swanson.
